Samsung Galaxy A50 frame leak reveals waterdrop notch, in-display fingerprint scanner, triple rear cameras

Samsung’s Galaxy A series has evolved from being cheaper alternatives to their flagship series to become the experiment grounds for upcoming features. The company is increasingly utilizing the Galaxy A series to gauge audience reaction to features and to get a chance to polish them further for future use in flagships. We saw this with the hole punch display on the Galaxy A8s, which is coming soon to the Galaxy S10. And as per reports, the Samsung Galaxy A50 may sport an interesting combination of features that should place it as a viable alternative for consumers looking to experience the future.

91Mobiles has obtained live images of the frame of the Samsung Galaxy A50, giving us a good idea of what to expect in the upcoming device. The chassis of the Galaxy A50 confirms the presence of a triple rear camera setup, as well as a 3.5mm headphone jack. For the front of the device, one can spot the small cut-out visible towards the top of the display area, indicating that Samsung will use an Infinity V panel with a waterdrop style notch as present on the recently launched Samsung Galaxy M10 and Galaxy M20.

Interestingly, the front or the rear panel of the device frame do not have any cutout for a fingerprint scanner. This is in-line with previous rumors that pointed towards the Samsung Galaxy A50 sporting an in-display fingerprint scanner. This could also mean that the device will not come with any fingerprint scanner at all, as is the case with the Samsung Galaxy M10, but seeing as this device does not have similar cost constraints, it is much more likely that the phone will have some fingerprint unlock solution rather than none.

Previous reports have mentioned that the Samsung Galaxy A50 will feature the Exynos 9610 SoC, 4GB of RAM, options of 64GB and 128GB for internal storage, a large 4,000 mAh battery, and a 24MP primary rear camera. The phone is expected to launch after the release of the new Samsung Galaxy S10.
